About Maria Pareo
Therapist | Coach | Founder of Psychoenergetic Work®
I am Maria, a therapist, coach, and the founder of Psychoenergetic Work®, an integrative mind-body-soul approach to healing.
My journey began in Rome at age 21 and has since evolved through over two decades of study, self-therapy, and experience in emotional healing, trauma recovery, and embodied therapy.
My curiosity about the human experience was sparked by significant emotional challenges and trauma in my own life. From the circumstances of my birth, to being bullied as a child, the dysfunctional separation of my parents, and my father's battle with cancer, each emotional challenge left a lasting imprint.
These experiences led me to embark on a profound journey of self-exploration, emotional healing, and personal transformation, a journey I now share through my therapeutic work. They shaped not only my understanding of trauma, emotional repression, and inner conflict, but also my commitment to supporting others in finding clarity, connection, and healing.
I believe that beneath every challenge lies an opportunity for transformation. My mission is to help others reconnect with their true selves, release what no longer serves them, and build a life rooted in authenticity, resilience, and inner peace.
Through trauma-informed therapy, inner child work, shadow exploration, and somatic practices, I support clients in navigating emotional pain and creating lasting, embodied change.
Every encounter is an energetic agreement between souls.
My path deepened when I met my first spiritual teachers, Bernard Rouch and Carla Sbardella, who introduced me to Egyptian–Essene Healing and Aura Reading. Their teachings helped me see myself more clearly and awakened a deeper level of spiritual awareness and self-healing.
Over the years, I’ve led more than 100 workshops, taught courses in basic counselling skills and Egyptian–Essene healing techniques, and facilitated numerous mindfulness and meditation groups, both online and in person. With over 1,000 hours of therapeutic practice, I bring a wealth of experience to every session, combining ancient wisdom with modern therapeutic approaches.
In addition, I’ve worked closely with neurodiverse children, especially those with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), in Steiner and mainstream schools, using creative and mindful interventions to support emotional regulation and self-expression. These experiences continue to shape my integrative, compassionate approach to healing and personal growth.

My Previous Life… a Journey into Soul Expression
Before stepping fully into the world of therapy and healing, I lived a vibrant life as a musical artist. My connection to music began early, singing at five, and writing and producing original songs by fifteen. Music became my first language of emotional expression and soul connection. I had the privilege of collaborating with international artists such as Montell Jordan and Regina Rogers, and appeared on major television shows including X Factor Italy, Saranno Famosi, and Good Morning Atlanta in the U.S. My work was featured in numerous magazines and radio stations, and I proudly released two albums. Performing on stages like the legendary Rock Café remains a cherished part of my journey.
Alongside music, I nurtured a deep love for painting, particularly soul art, intuitive works that channel inner messages for self-discovery and healing. Though currently offered less frequently, soul painting remains a part of my creative path and will return to my practice in time. These artistic experiences taught me the transformative power of creative expression, a principle I now weave into my therapeutic work. I integrate sound healing, voice work, and creative interventions to help clients access their emotions, release inner blocks, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
